

A last-minute location change and uncooperative weather could have produced a generic cover. They didn't.
The nurses arrived to the shoot with their own umbrellas, unplanned, unscripted. That detail became the cover. The image captured something a staged setup rarely produces: genuine warmth between people who had never met before that day, and a diversity of race and age that represented the nursing community honestly. The job was to recognize the moment and use it. Managing the broader production ran alongside that: two issues of a 60-75 page publication, a cross-functional team of writers and designers, photo direction, and end-to-end layout ownership across a four-week timeline.

The cover worked because nobody planned it. The job was to recognize it when it happened.
To art direct a publication that serves nurses, alumni, and donors across 60-75 pages, presenting each story with the visual clarity and care it deserves, twice a year.
