Standing out in a 42-car field isn't a matter of preference. It's a design problem with real parameters.
The 2023 LeMans Cup field ran LMP3 prototypes, Ferraris, Aston Martins, Lamborghinis, and Mercedes AMGs. The Caffeine Six Porsche 991 GT3 needed to hold its own visually against cars with more aggressive silhouettes. A livery in endurance racing has to work at speed, from distance, and from multiple angles simultaneously. Budget and implementation were unrestricted. The brief was simply to make it the most visually distinctive car on the grid.
The car became a fan favorite and one of the most heavily featured entries in the series' promotional channels.
It also earned a 2023 American Graphic Design Award from GDUSA. In a class picture of 42 cars, it's the one you find first.
