Introduction

This redesign was part of a broader digital initiative that launched both the corporate and e-commerce sites in 2016. I partnered with a UX/UI designer to rethink the structure, navigation, and visual presentation of the corporate site, making it more responsive, user-friendly, and aligned with the brand’s evolving identity.

It was my first foray into UX/UI. Big Lots launced their e-commerce initiative and our tools were more rudamentary back then.

The corporate site was sketched out, concepted in Adobe Photoshop, and accessibility guidelines and web resonsiveness were still in its infancy. Update: Big Lots Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2025

It was an amazing learning experience getting to work with UX designers, researchers, doing usability studies, testing and prototyping and seeing the fruit of my efforts at launch
