Brooklyn Nets Rebranding

Brooklyn Nets Branding

Brooklyn Nets

The current Nets branding was designed by Jay-Z (yes, the rapper), when the club moved from New Jersey to Brooklyn. It was very minimal to say the least, but it didn’t give the immediate impression as a team that was a threat in the Eastern Conference of the NBA. I had some fun with it.

The primary logo is intended to be reflective of the culture of Brooklyn. I used Helvetica as the primary typeface to be reflective if the New York subway system. I wanted to incorporate the letter/color codes of the subway as part of the lockup. I also used an overlay of the subway map on top of the jerseys as part of the design. I kept the color palette for the rebranding exercise. The Home and Away jersey, are white and black respectively.
