WorldCat Find App - Redesign

Often in tech, is a disconnect between designers and developers. It’s the disparity of right brain and left brain that leaves a lot of good inventions not hitting with the audience: it’s either too pretty and doesn’t work, or it works fluidly but is visually obsolete. My team and I were presented with a problem at the 11th hour with this app redesign. The technology itself is robust, but if left not curated, risks seeming visually outdated. I focused on the core things with the concepts I presented, and followed a user-friendly hierarchy that led users through simple steps that helped them find their end goal. While understanding that librarians prefer text-heavy design, I wanted the app to be easily navigable by the general public. The end result was met with overall positive reception.
